RP MEME: MEDIEVAL TIMES

Pick a scenario, post with your character and roll for the scene. Or just pick. That's cool too.

For the setting:

1) CASTLE. Throne rooms, private chambers, long hallways.
2) TAVERN. Rough-hewn tables, rough-hewn clientele.
3) DUNGEONS. Iron bars, rusty chains, and terrible food.
4) JOUST. The knights of the realm are battling.
5) FIELDS. It's a hard, long day working to grow food.
6) MARKET. There's a well, there are some craftsmen selling things. It's a medieval mall.

And once you've decided the setting, decide your role:

1) ROYALTY. You are a King, Queen, Prince, Princess or close relative.
2) KNIGHT. You are a warrior of the realm.
3) WITCH/WIZARD. Official court magician? Crazy old lady with a lot of herbs? You decide.
4) PEASANT. Yeah, your life sucks.
5) CRAFTSMAN. Blacksmith, woodworker. Apprentice or master is up to you.
6) SERVANT. Your life is utterly devoted to the one you serve.
BONUS: 7) TIME TRAVELER. ???

[The smaller knight sat opposed by a larger and bulkier one settled on a dark black horse. From the snickers in the crowd, it was obvious that no one thought this thin little spit of a knight would be much of a match against him. Unfazed by the jeers of the ground, the small knight accepted his lance and held it with ease while his opponent adjusted numerous times to get into position.

The flag dropped and the pair thundered towards one another. The small knights lance struck him dead in the shield and popped him from his seat, sending him soaring down to the dirt covered ground. His lance however, glanced off the frame of the small knights helmet, crimson bursting out from beneath it...but to the crowds surprise it was not blood, but long red hair.

Anna kept her horse from rearing and dropped her broken lance with a grunt as her squire ran to attend to her. Hurriedly she held her hand over her face, quickly exiting the field to hide her gender before someone could find her out.]

[ And, in the tents where the competitors prepare, Charles is waiting for her. He sighs, when he sees her. ]

[ OH WHAT UP it's Prince Charles, heir to the throne and a telepath who's used to things somewhat out of the ordinary. ]

[She smiled, dropping her bent helmet on a bench and working off her gauntlets. There was a nice bruise forming around her temple where the lance had glanced off, a small cut in the middle.]

And really you should see the other man. Might have cracked his rib.
[There is a hint of pride in her voice.]

I'm not seeing him, I'm seeing to you. [ He sets her down on a bench. Wets a cloth in a bucket of water, and dabs off the few drops of blood. ] I think I can work something up to to help heal that bruise.

[There's a redhead hiding behind one of the displayed suits of armour. Judging by his dress, he's a servant--cleanish but not exactly perfectly-made clothes. He's also concentrating on his hands and the flashes of light he keeps conjuring. Magic is not the purview of servants, after all.

[He's got a massive dog at his side--one of the kitchen hounds, who doesn't seem to be paying much attention to his appointed duty as guard.]

You know, I've always said that you'd make a better court healer. For someone who doesn't like the violence you tend to be around it quite a bit.

[Lights flicker behind her eyes for a moment, causing her to blink rapidly a few times until they cleared. Concussion. But she would be the last to admit it.]

You could always find a job with some lord, tending to his wife's aches and melodrama.

this will be fun.

[ He takes a moment to simply, you know, rub at his face because OW.

Then he looks around. Shit. What have you done, Leo? Speaking of... where is his errant past-father? ]

I have this strange urge to protect you. [ His fingers brush tender over the bruise. Yes; he has just the concoction for this. It will form the skin and lighten the bruise.

He steps away, and reaches for one of his clay jars. ]

[In time, he may notice that he's being watched.

Charles, the court magician, keeps a close eye on him. He's long suspected this particular servant of some magical power. Good to know that his senses aren't dull.]

[ Young master alchemist shut up that is TOTALLY A CRAFT Sefton enters the tavern! Unfortunately, he needs something alcoholic for his next beverage, never mind his magical curse that makes him loathe such public space... ]

3 - Dungeons. And... the Doctor.

[The Doctor is tossed unceremoniously into the cell, his wrists chained. The bars slam behind him. After stumbling back to his feet, he turns and grabs the bars, shouting after the guard.]

No! You don't understand!

[But yelling at the guard's no use. With a frustrated noise, he turns and starts pacing.]

Come on now, Charles. Do I seem like a woman who needs looking after?

[Anna chuckled and gently pushed her hair back to keep it out of the way for him.]

[Ah yes, a rowdy tavern. And in a quiet corner, a mysterious traveler who says little and keeps carefully from touching strangers.]

[ The absurdly young alchemist in the corner merely watches, similarly-shackled wrists wrapped around his legs. His clothes are fairly high-class and he doesn't look too malnourished yet, so he's likely not been here long.

If nothing else, he does look fairly amused. ]

Lemme guess. You're innocent?

[Eurgh, why all this armour. It's heavy and hot and it sucks. How did he become a knight, again? Oh, right. He rescued some nobleman's daughter. Never mind that he did it with magic ... what is the logic of these people. Why did he still need to wear this armour while he was on duty?

[So inescapably bored there are no words for it, Hawke wanders through the marketplace, only half keeping an eye on making sure things are actually going well. At least if a fight breaks out it would be exciting, right?]
