RP MEME: MEDIEVAL TIMES
Pick a scenario, post with your character and roll for the scene. Or just pick. That's cool too.
For the setting:
1) CASTLE. Throne rooms, private chambers, long hallways.
2) TAVERN. Rough-hewn tables, rough-hewn clientele.
3) DUNGEONS. Iron bars, rusty chains, and terrible food.
4) JOUST. The knights of the realm are battling.
5) FIELDS. It's a hard, long day working to grow food.
6) MARKET. There's a well, there are some craftsmen selling things. It's a medieval mall.
And once you've decided the setting, decide your role:
1) ROYALTY. You are a King, Queen, Prince, Princess or close relative.
2) KNIGHT. You are a warrior of the realm.
3) WITCH/WIZARD. Official court magician? Crazy old lady with a lot of herbs? You decide.
4) PEASANT. Yeah, your life sucks.
5) CRAFTSMAN. Blacksmith, woodworker. Apprentice or master is up to you.
6) SERVANT. Your life is utterly devoted to the one you serve.
BONUS: 7) TIME TRAVELER. ???

4 & 1
[Pfah. Give him a day in the woods anytime, instead of being stuck in this chair watching some idiots try to knock each other out. He'd give up being a prince, except that he's already outlawed hunting and all that. Still doesn't seem to stop some idiots from trying to give him collared and chained animals. (Usually, it was the givers who wound up collared and chained.)
[Yawn.]

The creature in question is brought out between four handlers, each wary and holding tight to a leash, keeping it centered between them. It's been caparisoned like a horse, even to a bridle that holds a piece of chain mesh across its mouths, but that doesn't hide the eight black eyes, narrowed against the light, or the four arms. Two of them are folded tight to the creature's side, holding some hidden injury.
"After all, milord," finishes the duke, presenting his prize with a flourish. "What beast would not be happier in your care?"
no subject
[Lance rises from his throne. He's the sort of man who seems to loom with his presence. Not a very nice presence, either. More the sort that makes you want to cower.]
Do you always present a gift to your lord which is damaged due to your own neglect?
[Demeaning words for the creature, but they're the only ones the fool will understand. He moves forward, past the guards without a care, looking the creature in all of his eyes. The duke isn't worth his attention at the moment--he's more interested in the creature, and his next words are directed at it.]
Does the light pain you?
no subject
The creature shifts its clawed feet, and the men on the leashes draw them tighter. But it has no intent to lunge, eyes fixed on the human who is clearly the First here, from the way all the others defer to him. When he speaks, it cocks its head, picking out the words it knows. Light. Pain.
"Yes," it says, voice clipped and strange, coming muffled from behind the chain mesh.

[Behind him, his guards are picking up the pieces he's throwing away. See, they already know what's going to come. One of them cuts a broad, thick strip of cloth from his own cloak, and when Lance holds out his hand, the strip is put into it.]
Bend, and I will cover your eyes.
no subject
[The alarmed handlers move back, between the creature and their protesting duke.]
Sir! This isn't safe!
[With a look of extreme dislike at the duke, it turns back towards the First, staring at him, trying to decide his motives. Warily, it bends forward, lowering its head to his height, but ready to back away instantly.]
no subject
Is that well, Creature?
no subject
Yes. It helps.
[For the first time here, it speaks with both mouths, even if the strange, simple language the humans speak doesn't need them.]
no subject
[Blindness in the light is all he can offer, unfortunately, until he can find something better. Lance turns to the duke, eyes narrowing.]
Guards. Dress my dear duke in the finery he so graciously bestowed upon my new friend here. Then he may be escorted back to his estate--just as his 'gift' left it.
[Grimly, with one arm full and the other hand resting on their swords, they step forward to do exactly that.]

3 & 5 (... yep, again, why not)
Bwahahaha.
... Hello?
no subject
He grunts and pushes himself to his knees while carefully picking at the gravel embedded into his palms. Then he freezes. A cellmate? ]
... 'lo.
no subject
Who are you?
no subject
Sefton. You?
no subject
Some. This is my space. Why did they bring you here?
[There was no anger or irritation in its strange voices, just a curiosity.
no subject
They said I'd become an, uh, an abomination. Said something 'bout seeing how long it'd take me to rot down here.
no subject
[Some looked to the side, to the heap of bones left there, pushed as tidily into one corner as he could manage. There is little left on them to rot - he doesn't get fed often enough to waste anything.]
no subject
S' that why you're down here?

1 & 5
Her blond hair was hidden under a cap and with trousers on instead of skirts she imagined no one would want to give a lad trouble as much as they would a lady riding side saddle on her own.
Claire slowed when she reached the tilled farm land, trying not to disturb the growing crop as she looked to see how far the sun had gone down. There was no getting back to the castle before nightfall now.]
no subject
He wasn't sure what he was looking at when he saw the horse, something like a strange, mutated animal with limbs in the wrong places and two torsos, two heads. He stopped, standing amid the crops, bare skin white against the green, and just stared in confusion.]
no subject
Sir? Sir, are you lost? Have you been robbed?
[She called out, trying her best to make her voice sound masculine, hoping that it was just some poor drunk lost out in the night and not a Celt.]
no subject
... Lost.
[He definitely was that, at least. Looking back into the woods, he didn't see a single thing familiar. The whole world looked wrong.]
no subject
There were some extra riding clothes inside and a cloak. She pulled that out first before turning back to the curious man. She kept a dagger on her belt, but she didn't think she'd need it- at least she hoped she wouldn't.]
Um- here. It's kinda getting cold out so if you want to take this. [She closed a bit of distance, but did not come closer.] What's your name and where do you come from? The capital is far from here and I don't know any villages this close to the woods...
no subject
I don't know.
