RP MEME: MEDIEVAL TIMES

Pick a scenario, post with your character and roll for the scene. Or just pick. That's cool too.

For the setting:

1) CASTLE. Throne rooms, private chambers, long hallways.
2) TAVERN. Rough-hewn tables, rough-hewn clientele.
3) DUNGEONS. Iron bars, rusty chains, and terrible food.
4) JOUST. The knights of the realm are battling.
5) FIELDS. It's a hard, long day working to grow food.
6) MARKET. There's a well, there are some craftsmen selling things. It's a medieval mall.

And once you've decided the setting, decide your role:

1) ROYALTY. You are a King, Queen, Prince, Princess or close relative.
2) KNIGHT. You are a warrior of the realm.
3) WITCH/WIZARD. Official court magician? Crazy old lady with a lot of herbs? You decide.
4) PEASANT. Yeah, your life sucks.
5) CRAFTSMAN. Blacksmith, woodworker. Apprentice or master is up to you.
6) SERVANT. Your life is utterly devoted to the one you serve.
BONUS: 7) TIME TRAVELER. ???

[Lance grunts but doesn't say anything else or ask just what the boy did. Mostly the redhead's just assuming he used a stick of wood or some such thing. Useful, but still not worth the company.]

Obviously I'm not going to be able to stay there. Go find me another tavern.

[polarization]

We can find one together.

[ aka, he realizes his master is trying to be rid of him and is too drained from the magic to suck it up like he has been doing and let him 'escape'. ]

[He stops, turns and gives the brat a hard look.]

I have some business I need to see to. Go.

[Or else. He flicks his fingers at Sefton and turns to continue his walk away.]

[polarization]

[ He doesn't stop following, not yet. ]

And you'll know where we're staying... how?

[wantsdragonspls]

I'm sure you'll find me.

[Sardonically. It's not going to stop him from trying to escape, of course, but given the lad's track record so far ...]

[polarization]

[ There's a small smile in his voice now. ]

Of course, Sir. Be careful with your passenger.

[ And he breaks away from Lance, moving into the crowd to find some more innocuous place for them to bunk down for the night. ]

[... Observant brat. Lance grunts again and strides off quickly, making his way directly out of town. Time to find someplace else to bed down, before the lad figures out exactly what his passenger is. Boy's getting dangerous.]

[polarization]

[ It isn't until later in the night, much later than it's advised for someone his age to be traveling alone, that Sefton locates Lance's camp. He carries with him a bag he hadn't had with him before, food and some other provisions, and simply sits down nearby yet without actually encroaching on Lance's space.

Despite the fact that he seems to have pinpointed Lance's location yet again, there's no joy in the fact. Just weariness. ]

[Lance is lounging against his pack near a fire, still with his cloak on (and lumpy around his shoulders). He opens one eye and grunts again when Sefton emerges out of the darkness. How does the brat do it? He doesn't have the background for a tracker, and no plain tracker could keep up with him. Lance is beginning to suspect magic.

[This could be very bad. Maybe he should just lead the boy into the mountains and use him as bait for the dragons.]

[polarization]

[ There's an almost-sleepy glance in return for Lance's non-greeting. ]

I brought dinner.

[ Since their last one was so rudely interrupted. ]

[wantsdragonspls]

Get it served, then, boy.

[polarization]

[ He blinks, slowly, then rubs at his eyes and moves closer to the fire to do just that. It's not anything fancy, but there's more than enough for the two of them to be full, with the chance for some to be left as breakfast... depending on how much their guest will eat tonight. ]

[wantsdragonspls]

[Their guest ate most of Lance's soup, and isn't going to be making an appearance for as long as Sefton is nearby. In fact, there doesn't seem to be anything else present in the clearing, besides them. Seem.

[Lance doesn't sit up; he just holds his hand out for the food. (Sitting up means disturbing said 'guest's' hiding spot.)]

[polarization]

[ Sefton places it near Lance, but doesn't directly deposit it into the other man's hand. He doesn't want to risk spilling anything when his energy is so drained.

He moves back against something solid once he's gathered his own food and picks at it. ]

[wantsdragonspls]

[An annoyed grunt is Sefton's response, but Lance takes it, eats it, and doesn't feed any to his lap, shoulders or anywhere else. Apparently there is no guest anymore, Sefton! Isn't that nice?

[Then, done with food, he flips his cloak over himself and apparently goes right to sleep.]

[polarization]

[ Very. Sefton makes sure to finish as much as he served himself, then retrieves his blanket from the bag and curls up under it, falling asleep quite quickly. There's not trust that Lance will be there in the morning, but he has little choice about going to sleep now. ]

[wantsdragonspls]

[And, naturally, within a half-hour Lance is up, cloak wrapped around himself and pack off the ground. He moves silently through the woods, leaving Sefton behind. He had a nap earlier, you see, and from the looks of it the brat will be asleep for some time yet. Lance, meanwhile, will be heading toward the mountains.]

[polarization]

[ Sefton doesn't locate Lance again until midday, although he seems more refreshed than he did the night before. There's still a slight pallor to him that there isn't usually. Too much ditching and forcing him to locate Lance through the unusual means... ]

Sir?

[wantsdragonspls]

[Lance is perched on a rock, looking out over the forest and enjoying the warm breeze, without shadows. He doesn't look around.]

What?

[polarization]

I'd appreciate it if you stopped doing that.

[wantsdragonspls]

I've no reason to.

[polarization]

It saves time and energy.

[ A lot of energy, on Sefton's part. ]

[wantsdragonspls]

I didn't want you to begin with, brat. I've no reason to make it easy for you.

[Even if he has to grudging respect the boy's persistence--and magical ability. It's the only thing it could be.]

[polarization]

As you've made abundantly clear.

[ So... why hasn't he left yet? ]

Then stop complaining and bring the remainder of the food here.
