RP MEME: MEDIEVAL TIMES

Pick a scenario, post with your character and roll for the scene. Or just pick. That's cool too.

For the setting:

1) CASTLE. Throne rooms, private chambers, long hallways.
2) TAVERN. Rough-hewn tables, rough-hewn clientele.
3) DUNGEONS. Iron bars, rusty chains, and terrible food.
4) JOUST. The knights of the realm are battling.
5) FIELDS. It's a hard, long day working to grow food.
6) MARKET. There's a well, there are some craftsmen selling things. It's a medieval mall.

And once you've decided the setting, decide your role:

1) ROYALTY. You are a King, Queen, Prince, Princess or close relative.
2) KNIGHT. You are a warrior of the realm.
3) WITCH/WIZARD. Official court magician? Crazy old lady with a lot of herbs? You decide.
4) PEASANT. Yeah, your life sucks.
5) CRAFTSMAN. Blacksmith, woodworker. Apprentice or master is up to you.
6) SERVANT. Your life is utterly devoted to the one you serve.
BONUS: 7) TIME TRAVELER. ???

It's a unit of measurement. Do you have those? At all?

Because one of these days, you're going to find something a hell of a lot faster than... whatever it is you use now. Horses? Doesn't matter. You'll need more precision.

Horses. Or, usually, our legs.

One of these days, serah, maybe. But not yet. We going to the Gallows or Denerim, then?

Denerim sounds the safer bet. I'm not walking the whole way, though.

Well, unless you can fly the both of us there and back in a night, you're going to have to, and alone. I can't leave the city for over a week.

... Why don't we go tour for a map. Then you can go on to Denerim yourself once you leave Kirkwall.

[ghostlighter]

Depends on how far it is.

[ He shakes his head. ] Fine, whatever. Lead the way.

It's in another country and on the opposite coast, serah.

This way; turns out we're heading to the Chantry after all! Just don't let on that you're a magic, because if you bring the templars down on us I'm cutting you loose.

[Except he won't really, he'll use his charm to get them out of trouble, but Chris doesn't need to know that.]

Technically, it's not magic.

You really think they're going to care about the distinction? The templars here aren't as understanding as most.

Nice thing about ghost powers is that it's pretty hard to catch a ghost. [ Beat. ] Or his tour guide.

Well, that's reassuring. Except for the fact that then I'll have a reputation for consorting with apostates, and I really don't need that in this climate.

We'll make that plan B, then.

Oh, good. Always nice to know there's a backup plan when we don't have a first-place plan.

We're going to the Chantry. That's a plan.

[fadedchampion]

We're going to the Chantry and not making the slightest mention of studying magic. That's the plan.

[ghostlighter]

We're going to study magic without mentioning we're studying magic. Got it.

Well, it would be a lot easier if you stopped talking and started following, but what's a tour without chatter?

Just as well you aren't here later. A lot of gangs roam Lowtown at night, and it would be such a distraction to have to take care of them all before I got you to the Chantry.

[ghostlighter]

I don't even want to think about what medieval gangs must look like. [ They would just be too huge a gap to the type of gangs he knows. ]

[fadedchampion]

Dirty, unwashed, armed with swords. And crossbows. I mean, Maker's breath, even when we lived here in Lowtown my mother would never have let me go out unwashed.
