Anyone on my flist seen it? It was a short-lived series on ABC - one season, aired in pieces, and in a crappy timeslot. As I hear, ditched like a diseased monkey because it involved a hurricane and aired just after Katrina. Basically an Invasion of the Body Snatchers kind of thing, only the first episode was directed by Thomas Schlamme.

I just saw the first four episodes, and, um, hooked? Yes. I'm hooked. It may be because William Fichtner stars as quite possibly the coolest bodysnatched alien bad guy ever. Then again, I might think he's the coolest pretty much because he's William Fichtner (if you don't know who he is - think shotgun-wielding bank manager from The Dark Knight, the asshole ambitious father from the beginning of Blades of Glory, that dude in Contact - yeah, you know, that one).

In the show, aliens drop on Earth during Hurricane Eve, a devastating storm that pummels through Florida (surprise, surprise). Main characters include Larkin the television anchorwoman - currently married to Russel the park ranger (main character), who was formerly married to Mariel the chief of medicine at the local hospital who is currently married to Tom, the sheriff (and aforementioned bodysnatched alien bad guy).

The four of them share kids. This premise is tailormade for fic in various combinations of the main characters - guys, girls, both guys and girls. And I missed it completely the first time around.

It's too bad that from the spoilers I couldn't avoid encountering while researching the fate of this show it looks like it devolves into turgid science fiction soap opera after a little while. The fate that Jericho (an oddly similar show, in tone and setting) avoided.
